Macedon Ranges Bushfire and Planning was established in 2022 as a town planning consultancy operated by Nathan Aikman, who grew up in the Mallee in North Western Victoria and now calls the Macedon Ranges home.

Nathan is a qualified Town Planner as well as a Fire Protection Authority of Australia Bushfire Planning and Design (FPAA BPAD) accredited bushfire consultant. He has more than 15 years of experience in town planning, gained working for both local and state government.

Before establishing MRBP, he developed a deep understanding of what councils require, how planning schemes operate, and how to achieve practical outcomes for property owners and developers.

His experience spans both rural and metropolitan planning issues, from single dwellings on bushfire-prone rural land to multi-unit developments and commercial projects. He has extensive experience presenting at VCAT and understands the Tribunal process from preparation through to hearing.

Nathan holds his BPAD accreditation through the Fire Protection Association of Australia, which means he is qualified to prepare BAL assessments, bushfire management statements and bushfire management plans to the standard required by councils and the CFA across Victoria.
